Aerobic for Hip Pain?

If you or someone you know struggles with hip pain, you might wonder which type of exercise works best—strength training or adding aerobic activity like jogging or cycling. A new study from Australia found that resistance training alone is just as effective as combining it with aerobic exercise when it comes to reducing hip pain and improving function in people with hip osteoarthritis (OA).

In the study, participants followed a personalized strength training program at home for three months. Some also added aerobic activity, but the results showed no extra pain relief or mobility benefits from doing both.

So, what does this mean for you? If you have hip pain, don’t stress about adding cardio—strength training alone is enough to help. But if you enjoy aerobic exercise, keep doing it for overall health benefits!
