Can Sitting Too Long Affect Your Health?

Have you ever spent hours studying and realized you barely moved? As university students, we often sit through classes, study sessions and long evenings at our desks.Sitting is a normal part of life, but spending too much time inactive may affect our health. Research has linked high amounts of sedentary time with a greater risk of cardiovascular disease and other health problems. Regular exercise helps, but it is still useful to break up long periods of sitting. As a physiotherapy student, I find it interesting that small movements can make a difference in our daily routines. Standing up, walking to get water or taking a short movement break can help us avoid staying in one position for hours.Of course, sitting itself is not dangerous, and there is no perfect posture we must maintain all day. The important thing is to change positions and stay active regularly.Next time I study for a long exam, I want to remember that a few minutes of movement can be a good investment in my health.
