Quitting Vaping? Lean on Your Friends

Thinking about quitting vaping? You’re not alone! A new study found that having supportive friends can make a huge difference when trying to quit. Researchers surveyed high school students and discovered that those who had encouragement from friends were less likely to relapse or switch to other nicotine products.

What didn’t work? Punishment or simply taking vapes away—this was actually linked to continued use. Many teens quit because of concerns about health, addiction, cost, and its impact on sports performance.

If you or someone you know is trying to quit, remember: support works better than judgment. Check in on your friends, encourage healthy choices, and remind them why they wanted to quit in the first place.
